EDM Programmer (Starlink)

About this role

SpaceX is seeking an EDM Programmer for its Starlink project in Bastrop, TX. The role involves operating and programming sinker EDM machines to support the production of Starlink products aimed at providing global internet service.

What you'll do

• Create and operate sinker/wire EDM machine programs
• Program and operate graphite CNC machining
• Design and pull electrodes
• Optimize electrode designs with the engineering team
• Develop and track machining parameters for various materials
• Perform preventative maintenance on EDM machines

What they're looking for

• 3+ years of sinker EDM programming experience
• 1+ year of CNC programming for electrodes
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Advanced knowledge of EDM programming
• Experience with wire EDM machines
• Strong knowledge of cutting parameters for copper and graphite
• Ability to collaborate with engineers
