Electric Propulsion Engineer, Avionics (Starshield)
About this role
SpaceX seeks an Electric Propulsion Engineer to design, build, and qualify avionics for Starshield satellite electric propulsion systems. You'll own power-processing and control electronics end-to-end, from circuit design through flight qualification and production support, working on high-reliability hardware for government national security missions.
What you'll do
- Design, analyze, test, and support production spacecraft electric propulsion avionics including power-processing and control electronics
- Lead electrical architecture, component selection, circuit-board design, implementation, verification, and board bring-up
- Design and execute qualification test plans for flight readiness (vibration, thermal, EMI/EMC, life cycle)
- Analyze ground-test and flight data using Python/MATLAB to validate hardware performance and inform redesigns
- Partner with firmware, mechanical, thermal, manufacturing, and test teams to integrate propulsion electronics
- Lead root-cause investigations and redesigns to improve reliability and production rates
