Electrical Design Engineer, Gateways & Customer Hardware (Starlink)
About this role
Design and develop electrical systems for Starlink consumer hardware and gateways, taking products from concept through production at scale. You'll own the complete electrical architecture for customer-facing devices serving users globally, collaborating across mechanical, software, and manufacturing teams.
What you'll do
- Design and test reliable electronics for satellite communication systems
- Lead system trades, requirements definition, component selection, and schematic/PCB design through production
- Collaborate with software, mechanical, thermal, and manufacturing teams on integrated hardware solutions
- Support hardware through prototyping, bring-up, debugging, production, and flight integration
- Analyze on-orbit and lab data to drive continuous design improvements
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical and integration challenges

- Mixed-signal circuit board design (processors, FPGAs, Ethernet, DDR4, analog/digital converters)
- Multi-GHz SerDes and high-speed digital design
- Power supply and analog circuit design
- PCB layout and schematic capture

- Cross-functional collaboration with mechanical, thermal, and software engineers
