About this role

SpaceX seeks an Electrical Battery Engineer to own battery assembly development for Falcon and Dragon spacecraft, handling design, reliability, manufacturing, and validation across the complete product lifecycle. This role requires expertise in battery management systems, lithium-ion technology, and electrical testing to ensure safe and reliable space vehicle operation.

What you'll do

  • Own battery assemblies for flight vehicles across all lifecycle phases from development to in-flight operation
  • Develop battery management systems, pack designs, electrical schematics, and layouts per requirements
  • Define manufacturing specifications and validation processes for cells through full-scale packs
  • Design and execute hardware validation testing including benchtop, environmental, and abuse test campaigns
  • Drive design improvements to schematics and drawings that enhance reliability and manufacturability
  • Resolve production issues and provide engineering justification during assembly, test, and vehicle integration
