About this role
SpaceX seeks an Electrical Engineer for Power Systems to design, procure, and build electrical infrastructure at their College Station facility. This hands-on role involves managing power distribution systems, coordinating with utilities and contractors, and overseeing projects from conception through commissioning.
What you'll do
- Execute power-specific engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning for critical infrastructure projects
- Develop electrical drawings, design documentation, and technical reports for industrial and commercial applications
- Write, negotiate, and manage construction contracts with subcontractors through project completion
- Coordinate with electrical utility providers on design and engineering for reliable power delivery
- Collaborate with engineers, contractors, fabricators, and stakeholders across multiple disciplines

- Power distribution systems design and build (<600Vac)
- AutoCAD/Revit proficiency (beginner to intermediate)
- Transformers, switchgear, and motor control center knowledge
- UPS systems, backup generators, and automatic transfer switches
- Electrical code familiarity (NEC, NFPA, IBC)
- Variable frequency drives (VFDs) and MODBUS communication
- Arc flash and power coordination analysis
- Troubleshooting and technical documentation interpretation
