About this role
SpaceX seeks an Electrical Engineer to ensure avionics hardware reliability across spacecraft and rockets by conducting radiation effects analysis, testing, and mitigation strategies. The role involves cross-functional collaboration with design and supply chain teams, database development, and establishing qualification standards for components exposed to harsh space radiation environments.
What you'll do
- Provide radiation test analysis, requirements guidance, and mitigation recommendations to design and systems engineering teams
- Develop databases and applications to manage and share radiation test data across programs
- Coordinate with supply chain and component reliability on radiation test campaigns and data accessibility
- Review PCN changes and establish testing/reporting standards for component and PCBA radiation qualification
- Analyze circuit design and manufacturing processes to improve radiation test coverage
- Define component procurement specifications and preferred parts aligned with radiation requirements
