SpaceX seeks an Electrical Engineer to own semiconductor reliability testing for Starlink, conducting package-level and wafer-level qualification tests, diagnosing failure mechanisms, and driving design improvements to ensure high-volume production quality. The role bridges electrical, packaging, and manufacturing engineering disciplines, requiring hands-on debugging, test automation, and cross-functional collaboration.
What you'll do
- Plan and execute package-level (HTOL, LTOL) and wafer-level (TDDB, ECM) reliability qualification tests aligned with JEDEC standards
- Develop custom test hardware, burn-in boards, fixturing, and environmental test systems for reliability validation
- Design PCBs and electrical interfaces for test fixtures, sockets, and monitoring systems
- Create automation scripts and data acquisition tools in Python to control equipment, log data, and analyze large reliability datasets
- Perform failure analysis and root cause investigations using oscilloscopes, power supplies, vector network analyzers, and thermal chambers
- Analyze Weibull and acceleration models to predict field performance and inform design and process improvements
