About this role

SpaceX seeks a Hardware Development Engineer to own and optimize PCBA manufacturing processes for Starlink production. You'll manage volume production workflows, introduce new products, select and validate manufacturing equipment, and drive continuous improvements in quality and cost-effectiveness.

What you'll do

  • Own PCBA manufacturing processes and manage in-house production execution, traceability, and process control
  • Drive new product introduction of PCBA assemblies in coordination with design engineers
  • Lead equipment selection using process capability analysis and Gauge R&R studies
  • Identify and resolve SMT production and testing issues through root-cause analysis
  • Implement safety improvements and manage work instructions, documentation, and operator training
  • Provide design-for-manufacturability feedback and track schedule, defect rates, and cost optimization
