About this role

SpaceX seeks an IT Network Infrastructure Technician to install, test, and maintain critical telecommunications and data cabling systems supporting production facilities, launch operations, and spacecraft systems. The role involves hands-on work with fiber optics, copper cabling, RF systems, and audio/video equipment in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

What you'll do

  • Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot fiber, network, audio, video, and RF cabling systems
  • Build and outfit telecommunication and equipment rooms with proper infrastructure
  • Install cable pathway systems including trays, racks, conduit, and other mounting hardware
  • Perform continuity checks and diagnose wiring errors using specialized test equipment
  • Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and engineering specifications
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot system failures and document findings

  • RF, Ethernet, and telephony system installation
  • Audio/video equipment installation and troubleshooting
  • Cable pathway and raceway installation (conduit, cable trays, PVC)
  • Oscilloscope and multi-meter operation; soldering and crimping techniques
  • Knowledge of industry standards (BICSI, NEC, TIA/EIA) and network protocols (TCP/IP)
  • Interpretation of technical drawings and schematics
  • Equipment operation (boom lifts, forklifts, scissor lifts)
