About this role
SpaceX seeks an experienced storage engineer to design, implement, and manage enterprise storage infrastructure supporting mission-critical workloads including simulation, telemetry, and test data processing. The role requires hands-on expertise with platforms like NetApp, Pure Storage, and VAST, operating in a performance-critical on-premises environment.
What you'll do
- Design and maintain multi-tier storage infrastructure for high-performance, capacity, archive, and disaster recovery
- Architect and operate exabyte-scale file systems and high-throughput storage for simulation and telemetry workloads
- Administer NetApp, Pure FlashArray/FlashBlade, VAST, and HPE Alletra storage systems
- Monitor and troubleshoot storage performance across hardware, transport, and protocol layers
- Develop automation tooling for monitoring, capacity planning, configuration management, and alerting
- Collaborate with compute, networking, and application teams on storage strategy alignment
