About this role
SpaceX seeks a Manufacturing Engineer (Machining) to bridge engineering and production teams, optimizing machining processes for spacecraft hardware. You'll drive design improvements, manage manufacturing documentation, troubleshoot production issues, and lead cost/quality initiatives across current and next-generation vehicles.
What you'll do
- Support product design and process improvements to enhance manufacturing efficiency, quality, and cost reduction
- Analyze manufacturing discrepancies and collaborate with quality on root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Create and maintain manufacturing BOMs, work instructions, and technical specifications
- Coordinate daily with production, machining, maintenance, quality, and design teams to meet delivery schedules
- Lead projects evaluating alternate component technologies for cost savings or reliability improvements
- Provide hands-on engineering input during manufacturing and integration of vehicle hardware
