About this role
SpaceX is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer for PCBA to develop and optimize printed circuit board assembly production processes for Starshield, a government-focused satellite communications system. You'll manage high-volume manufacturing operations, lead equipment selection, drive process improvements, and collaborate with design teams to ensure quality and manufacturability at scale.
What you'll do
- Own and manage PCBA manufacturing processes and products for in-house production
- Drive volume production processes including execution, quality control, configuration management, and traceability
- Manage new product introduction of PCBA assemblies with design engineers and process specialists
- Use statistical analysis tools to select and validate new manufacturing equipment
- Identify root causes of production issues and implement corrective actions and improvements
- Track schedules, work-in-progress levels, defect rates, and provide feedback on design for manufacturability
