About this role
SpaceX seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to develop and optimize machining processes for Raptor engine components, including valves and turbopumps. You'll collaborate across design, production, and quality teams to scale manufacturing while meeting cost, quality, and production rate targets in a fast-paced aerospace environment.
What you'll do
- Develop and implement machining processes for valve, turbopump, thrust chamber, and injector hardware to optimize cost and production rate
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure robust processes and rapid problem resolution
- Drive design-for-manufacturing improvements and manage change control into production
- Implement advanced process controls and automation to enable lights-out machining with minimal intervention
- Own part quality accountability, establish statistical process controls, and demonstrate capability metrics
- Oversee complete machining workflows from fixture design through CAM programming, tooling selection, and inspection methodologies
