About this role
SpaceX is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for Starlink to design and scale electro-mechanical assembly and test processes from prototype through high-volume production. You'll collaborate with engineering teams to optimize manufacturability, define production systems, and implement automation while managing the transition from design to full-scale manufacturing.
What you'll do
- Design and implement electro-mechanical assembly and test processes for Starlink satellites and ground equipment
- Collaborate with mechanical design teams to incorporate design-for-manufacturability principles
- Lead prototype builds and ensure incremental production milestones are achieved
- Define facility layouts, tooling requirements, headcount needs, and material flow for high-volume manufacturing
- Identify automation opportunities, evaluate ROI, and implement solutions on production lines
- Ensure manufacturing systems meet high-volume rate, cost, and quality targets
