About this role

SpaceX seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to develop in-house machining capabilities for tool and die production supporting the Starlink satellite internet program. You'll manage technical projects for plastic injection molds and die-cast tooling, optimizing manufacturing processes and collaborating across design, production, and quality teams.

What you'll do

  • Develop in-house machining capability for precision tooling and piece parts
  • Analyze parts and assemblies for design-for-manufacturability optimization
  • Create business plans and manage relationships between design, manufacturing, and supplier teams
  • Implement process controls for lights-out machining with minimal intervention
  • Identify, procure, and maintain machine shop equipment with proper calibration
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives and estimate prototype/production manufacturing costs

  • CNC machining (3+ years required)
  • 3D CAD and advanced surfacing (Siemens NX preferred)
