SpaceX seeks a Material Flow Engineer to design and optimize the movement and storage of materials across Starship production facilities in Hawthorne, CA. The role combines lean principles, data analytics, and project management to streamline material handling from receipt through assembly and drive operational efficiency at scale.
What you'll do
- Design and optimize material flow strategies using value stream mapping and lean principles to support production goals
- Develop factory and warehouse layouts with inventory optimization and space capacity modeling
- Create labor and equipment resource plans aligned with material flow strategies, including time studies and efficiency tracking
- Design cost-effective and sustainable packaging solutions that balance logistics density, handling efficiency, and quality
- Perform data analysis using Excel, Tableau, and SQL to assess performance metrics and inform decision-making
- Conduct safety risk assessments, audits, and training to ensure compliance with federal, state, and company safety standards
