About this role
SpaceX seeks a Material Flow Engineer to design and optimize material handling, storage, and logistics strategies for Raptor rocket engine production at Starbase. You'll apply lean principles and data analytics to streamline factory operations, warehouse layouts, and supply chain processes that support rapid manufacturing scale.
What you'll do
- Design and implement material flow strategies from receipt through production, utilizing value stream mapping for process optimization
- Develop warehouse and factory layouts that maximize storage density and achieve target inventory levels
- Create labor and equipment resource plans using lean principles; conduct time studies to track efficiency improvements
- Design packaging solutions and manage rack flow systems to optimize landed cost while maintaining quality standards
- Analyze material flow performance using Excel, Tableau, and SQL; provide data-driven recommendations to operations teams
- Conduct safety assessments, audits, and training to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and SpaceX standards
