About this role
SpaceX is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead construction projects for their College Station facility, managing the design, procurement, and build of mechanical, HVAC, piping, and utility infrastructure. You'll coordinate multidisciplinary teams, oversee contracts with vendors and contractors, and drive projects from conceptual design through activation.
What you'll do
- Lead project teams through engineering, procurement, and construction phases
- Design and manage HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems for commercial and industrial facilities
- Write, negotiate, and manage construction contracts with subcontractors
- Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and bid documents
- Manage budgets, cost forecasting, and project schedules across multiple simultaneous projects
- Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field and evaluate external contractor work
