About this role
SpaceX seeks a Mechanical Facilities Engineer to manage and optimize mechanical systems across the Starlink production facility in Bastrop, Texas. You will oversee HVAC, plumbing, and building infrastructure while driving improvement initiatives, coordinating cross-team projects, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
What you'll do
- Design, operate, troubleshoot, and improve facility mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and building structures
- Coordinate maintenance, construction, and production downtime to minimize operational disruptions
- Lead mechanical system improvement projects using design change requests and advanced detection methods
- Develop maintenance protocols, service schedules, and manage material procurement for equipment upkeep
- Write, negotiate, and oversee construction contracts with subcontractors through project completion
- Provide engineering support to facility technicians on troubleshooting and equipment operation
