Mission Integration Engineer, Special Programs
About this role
SpaceX seeks a Mission Integration Engineer to manage payload-to-platform interfaces for special programs, overseeing mechanical, electrical, thermal, and data integration from requirements through flight operations. You will coordinate across SpaceX disciplines to ensure safe mission execution and resolve interface challenges.
What you'll do
- Own and maintain payload-to-platform Interface Control Documentation (ICD) for all mechanical, electrical, data, and thermal interfaces
- Allocate customer and vehicle requirements to interfaces and maintain traceability through analysis, test, and inspection
- Evaluate payload designs against platform constraints and launch/on-orbit/re-entry environments
- Lead interface trades across mass, volume, loads, power, thermal, and EMI/EMC with documented technical basis
- Disposition interface non-compliances through engineering redesigns, waivers, or operational constraints
- Define and execute integrated testing including checkouts, environmental correlation, and end-to-end mission timeline verification
