About this role

SpaceX seeks a Network Engineer to design, deploy, and optimize critical network infrastructure supporting Starshield's national security missions. You'll manage large-scale AI datacenter networks, work with cutting-edge GPU clusters, and collaborate across hardware and software teams to ensure reliable, high-performance connectivity for Top Secret operations.

What you'll do

  • Design and deploy high-speed optical and copper connectivity for massive AI clusters (100k+ GPU scale)
  • Manage network infrastructure for Top Secret classified data centers
  • Translate ML workload communication patterns into topology and reconfigurability requirements
  • Build automation tools for network provisioning, deployment, and operations
  • Monitor network performance, capacity planning, and failure detection/remediation
  • Lead network integration, troubleshooting, and hardware/firmware updates

  • Layer-1 networking (transport, DWDM, optical fiber, circuit troubleshooting)
  • Datacenter network protocols (Ethernet, IPv4/IPv6, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, VXLAN)
  • GPU networking technologies (InfiniBand, NVLink, NVIDIA Blackwell/Rubin)
  • Network hardware deployment and troubleshooting (routers, switches, firewalls)
  • Fiber optics and physical layer troubleshooting
  • Network security implementation
  • Python or scripting for network automation
  • Cloud/web-scale network operations
