Network Engineer (Starlink)
About this role
SpaceX seeks a Network Engineer to operate, build, and deploy Starlink's global satellite broadband network. You'll manage network infrastructure, optimize performance and reliability, support major customers, and collaborate across engineering teams to advance the world's largest satellite internet constellation.
What you'll do
- Manage and expand network interconnections, co-location sites, and points of presence globally
- Monitor system performance metrics and implement capacity planning, failure detection, and remediation
- Lead network integration and troubleshooting for strategic Starlink customers
- Automate network device configuration and deployment tools
- Architect integration between satellite assets and traditional ground networks
- Mentor junior network engineers and provide pre-sales technical expertise

- Layer 1 networking (transport, DWDM, optical fiber, circuit troubleshooting)
- Enterprise and web-scale network deployment
- Networking hardware configuration (routers, modems, switches, firewalls)
- Linux production environment operations
- Python and/or bash scripting
- BGP, OSPF, or IS-IS routing protocols
- Network monitoring tools (Observium, SolarWinds, Nagios)
- Service provider network design and troubleshooting
