About this role

SpaceX seeks an Operations Engineer to design and optimize material flow systems for Starship production, managing receiving, storage, and movement of materials across facilities. The role combines lean manufacturing principles, data analytics, and project management to support production scaling at Starbase.

What you'll do

  • Design and implement material flow strategies from receipt through lineside delivery, using value stream mapping for end-to-end optimization
  • Develop factory and warehouse layouts with capacity models to achieve targeted inventory levels and maximize part density
  • Create labor and equipment resource plans based on lean principles; conduct time studies to track efficiency improvements
  • Engineer cost-effective packaging and rack flow solutions balancing landed cost, logistics density, and quality standards
  • Analyze material flow performance using Excel, Tableau, and SQL to identify issues and develop data-driven solutions
  • Execute safety audits, risk assessments, and training to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and company standards
