About this role
SpaceX seeks an experienced OT Systems Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain operational technology infrastructure supporting launch and manufacturing systems across multiple sites. The role bridges legacy controls systems with modern IT technologies like virtualization and automation, requiring expertise in industrial control systems, high-reliability environments, and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced aerospace setting.
What you'll do
- Design and deploy next-generation OT environments for plant and launch systems across multiple SpaceX sites
- Install, configure, and maintain industry-standard controls software platforms and internally developed HMIs
- Integrate IT technologies (virtualization, edge compute, GitOps) to enhance security and scalability of industrial control systems
- Provide direct support during launch campaigns, test events, and production operations including off-hours availability
- Develop and maintain dev/test/staging environments while performing systems upgrades and incident response
- Document standards, architectures, and operational procedures ensuring compliance with industry security frameworks (Purdue Model, IEC 62443)
