About this role

SpaceX seeks a PCB Manufacturing Engineer to serve as the technical lead for electronics components and assemblies supporting the Starship program. This role bridges design, manufacturing, and supply chain to drive new product introduction, resolve quality issues, and enable suppliers to meet ambitious production volumes for rocket avionics.

What you'll do

  • Act as technical point of contact for assigned PCB and PCBA parts, solving supplier challenges and mitigating manufacturing risks
  • Own new product introduction including supplier qualification, process development, and manufacturing ramp-up to production rate
  • Analyze production data to identify improvements in manufacturability, lead times, cost, and defect prevention
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues, escapes, and containments
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with design, R&D, supply chain, and production teams to manage product portfolio
  • Support procurement by assessing supplier capabilities, processes, and quality systems for strategic sourcing decisions

What they're looking for

  • PCB and PCBA manufacturing processes
  • IPC standards (IPC-2221, IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610)
  • PCBA equipment knowledge (pick-and-place, reflow, soldering, AOI, x-ray)
  • Root cause analysis and 8D problem-solving methodology
  • Supplier quality processes (PPAP, APQP, FIAR)
