About this role

SpaceX seeks a Power Systems Engineer to lead infrastructure projects at the Bastrop, TX facility, managing design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of power systems for aerospace and industrial applications. You'll coordinate with multiple disciplines, resolve field conflicts, and ensure reliable power delivery to critical infrastructure.

What you'll do

  • Lead project teams through engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning of power-specific infrastructure
  • Develop drawings, design documentation, and reports for aerospace, industrial, and commercial projects
  • Write, negotiate, and manage construction contracts with subcontractors through closeout
  • Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field in real-time
  • Coordinate with electrical utility providers on design and engineering for reliable power service
  • Interact and collaborate with engineers, contractors, vendors, fabricators, and stakeholders

  • Electrical power distribution systems design (<600Vac)
  • Transformers, switchgear, motor control centers, and facility grounding
  • Critical power infrastructure (UPS systems, backup generators, automatic transfer switches)
  • AutoCAD/Revit (beginner to intermediate)
  • National Electric Code, NFPA, and International Building Code knowledge
  • Field troubleshooting and technical problem-solving
  • Contract negotiation and project management
  • Systems integration and cross-discipline coordination
