About this role

SpaceX seeks a manufacturing engineer to design and optimize production processes for the Raptor engine's combustion chamber and nozzle—some of the most complex components in rocket propulsion. You'll scale manufacturing methods, implement data-driven quality systems, and enable high-rate production of these extreme-performance parts for Starship.

What you'll do

  • Own fabrication, joining, finishing, and verification processes for Raptor thrust chamber and nozzle hardware
  • Develop manufacturing strategies, work instructions, custom fixtures, and tooling for complex geometries
  • Build data pipelines and statistical process control systems to optimize production and reduce defects
  • Partner with propulsion design and supply chain teams to convert designs into scalable, manufacturable processes
  • Manage production line consistency, equipment, safety, ergonomics, facility layout, and product introductions
  • Challenge existing processes and collaborate across engineering and technical teams to support high-rate production
