About this role
SpaceX seeks a Software Engineer to develop test automation, firmware, and hardware drivers for advanced spacecraft components operating in extreme conditions. You'll create robust software solutions that enable manufacturing, testing, and analysis of critical avionics, valves, and actuators for Starship, Raptor, Dragon, and Falcon vehicles.
What you'll do
- Develop modular test and automation software in Python for manufacturing and design verification
- Write automation software to interface with flight hardware, test equipment, and production systems
- Create custom automation solutions combining embedded electronics and innovative hardware approaches
- Develop algorithms to analyze complex test data and verify component acceptance criteria
- Maintain and troubleshoot automation infrastructure while identifying root causes of failures
- Define project plans, manage milestones, and ensure reliable test systems reach production
