About this role
SpaceX seeks a Software Engineer for Starlink's data platform to build scalable infrastructure handling petabyte-scale data ingestion, processing, and querying. You'll develop end-to-end pipelines that drive business operations while collaborating with a fast-moving team on one of the world's largest satellite internet systems.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain a highly reliable, scalable enterprise data platform for petabyte-scale operations
- Design and implement end-to-end data pipelines that improve SpaceX business processes
- Conduct architecture and design reviews with engineering peers
- Prototype and validate key technical concepts and design constraints
- Take full ownership of software engineering and product development cycles
- Apply first-principles thinking to solve complex business problems efficiently

- Backend programming (Scala, Java, C#, Python, Go, or similar)
- Frontend frameworks (Angular, React, or comparable JavaScript libraries)
- Big data processing (Apache Kafka, Spark, Flink, or equivalents)
