About this role

SpaceX seeks a Python and Linux-proficient software engineer to develop and maintain data-driven systems supporting spacecraft and vehicle hardware checkout, testing, and manufacturing operations. You'll bridge physical instrumentation with test operations, building reliable software that streamlines workflows and reduces operational risk for the mission to enable human life on Mars.

What you'll do

  • Develop and maintain Python-based analysis tools, data pipelines, and automated testing systems for hardware checkout and vehicle processing
  • Design and deploy software that interfaces with physical systems and aerospace instrumentation such as sensors and transducers
  • Implement and deploy solutions using modern CI/CD pipelines in Linux environments
  • Evaluate existing processes and implement scalable, automated alternatives to improve efficiency and reliability
  • Create interdisciplinary solutions that optimize engineering workflows and reduce risk in hazardous operations
  • Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews while owning the full lifecycle of developed software
