SpaceX seeks a Splunk Engineer to deploy, administer, and support enterprise-scale logging infrastructure while helping protect critical systems and data. The role involves managing distributed Splunk environments, writing complex queries, automating deployments, and ensuring platform performance for mission-critical operations.
What you'll do
- Deploy, administer, and support distributed Splunk environments at enterprise scale
- Standardize Splunk agent and enterprise deployment through automation frameworks
- Monitor and maintain logging platform performance, availability, and capacity
- Write complex SPL queries for security dashboards and alerts
- Troubleshoot Splunk instances and Universal Forwarder issues
- Handle data onboarding, governance, enrichment, and field extraction across use cases

- Splunk administration and implementation (2+ years)
- Complex regex for field mappings and pattern identification
- Automation frameworks (Puppet, Ansible, or similar)
- SPL query writing and optimization
- Linux systems administration
- Python for Splunk customization (preferred)
- Git and CI/CD practices
- Common Information Model (CIM) knowledge
