About this role
SpaceX seeks a Supplier Development Engineer to manage the supply chain for cables, connectors, and harnessing components used in Starlink satellites. You'll collaborate across engineering and manufacturing to drive quality, cost, and delivery improvements while overseeing supplier qualification, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What you'll do
- Own supply continuity and optimize quality, cost, delivery, and capacity metrics for satellite harnessing components
- Collaborate with design, R&D, and manufacturing teams to understand piece-part design intent and assembly processes
- Identify, audit, and onboard new suppliers while assessing their manufacturing processes and quality systems
- Lead supplier quality issue resolution through root cause analysis and act as liaison between procurement, engineering, and suppliers
- Implement and monitor PPAP, ensure supplier compliance with technical requirements, and analyze quality and delivery metrics
- Drive product and process improvements to reduce costs, mitigate supply risk, and improve cycle times

- Supplier quality processes (PPAP, APQP, RCCA, DOE, Six Sigma, 8D)
- Quality systems knowledge (ISO 9000, AS9100, NADCAP)
- Excel and Minitab proficiency
- Root cause analysis and problem-solving
- Statistical process control (SPC) and lean manufacturing
- Cross-functional communication and negotiation
- Supply chain engineering and cost reduction strategies
