About this role

SpaceX seeks a Supplier Development Engineer to support the Raptor rocket engine program by managing supplier relationships, overseeing new product introductions, and solving manufacturing and quality challenges across fabrication processes. This role requires deep manufacturing expertise and the ability to work with suppliers to meet aggressive production timelines and quality standards while enabling Mars mission objectives.

What you'll do

  • Serve as technical lead for assigned rocket parts and assemblies, solving supplier manufacturing and quality challenges
  • Own new product introductions including manufacturing method selection, supplier identification, and production ramp-up
  • Drive technical improvements to engineering drawings to reduce risk, defects, lead times, and costs
  • Investigate root causes of part issues and implement corrective actions at suppliers or SpaceX
  • Lead containment activities and manage supplier process/quality system assessments
  • Collaborate with procurement to identify and vet suppliers capable of meeting aggressive delivery schedules
