About this role
SpaceX seeks a Supplier Development Engineer to drive manufacturing excellence and quality for Starship rocket components. You'll own new product introduction, solve supplier manufacturing challenges, and ensure aggressive production ramp-ups while maintaining SpaceX's mission-critical standards.
What you'll do
- Serve as technical lead for assigned parts, solving manufacturing and quality issues at suppliers to mitigate mission risk
- Own new product introduction including manufacturing method selection, supplier vetting, and production ramp planning
- Drive technical improvements and design updates to reduce defects, improve manufacturability, and cut costs
- Investigate part failures, implement root cause solutions, and re-source to new suppliers when needed
- Lead containment activities and coordinate issue resolution across cross-functional teams
- Assess supplier capabilities, quality systems, and processes while managing continuous improvement
