Supplier Development Engineer, PCB/PCBA (Starshield)
About this role
SpaceX seeks a Supplier Development Engineer to manage PCB and PCBA suppliers for the Starshield satellite program. You'll drive supplier quality, capacity, and cost improvements while collaborating across engineering, manufacturing, and procurement teams to scale production at unprecedented rates.
What you'll do
- Own supply continuity for PCBs and components on Starshield; collaborate with design, R&D, and production teams
- Assess supplier manufacturing processes and quality systems; identify, audit, and onboard new suppliers
- Develop and implement supplier technical requirements and quality flowdowns; manage PPAP execution for rate production
- Monitor supplier quality and delivery metrics; drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality gaps
- Recommend process improvements to reduce costs, cycle times, and defects; provide manufacturing feedback to suppliers
- Act as liaison between purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers; lead projects and present reports to management
