Product Quality Engineer
About this role
SPAN seeks a Product Quality Engineer to oversee product quality across the entire lifecycle, from design through production and end-of-life support. You'll collaborate with hardware, test, and supply chain teams to drive manufacturing improvements, implement quality methodologies, and achieve quality KPIs for electrification products.
What you'll do
- Manage product quality from new product introduction (NPI) through sustaining production, covering PCBA manufacturing to system integration
- Provide manufacturing input to design and engineering teams early in development cycles to optimize for producibility and testability
- Lead root cause analysis and coordinate failure investigations with suppliers using 8D, CAPA, and FMEA methodologies
- Establish, monitor, and drive quality KPIs and metrics with contract manufacturers and suppliers via dashboards and periodic reviews
- Evaluate and enhance design verification processes to ensure zero design defects at production release
- Participate in ECO reviews and NPI build reviews to enforce quality gates throughout product introduction
