About this role
Varda seeks a Ground Systems Software Engineer II to build and maintain critical ground segment infrastructure for spacecraft operations, including telemetry services, mission control interfaces, and deployment platforms. You'll develop high-reliability software that bridges flight systems, avionics, and mission operations across lab, test, and on-orbit environments.
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain telemetry ingestion, scaling, distribution, and commanding services with deterministic behavior for real-time operations
- Design operator-grade mission control dashboards and UIs to optimize operations workflows and reduce cognitive load
- Build simulation and test automation tools for flight software, device emulators, and scenario-based testing
- Create standardized CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and self-service tooling for mission and ground software teams
- Implement robust deployment patterns across lab, test stand, and mission network environments with safe rollout/rollback strategies
- Support avionics, GNC, and operations teams with fast iteration and hardware-in-the-loop frameworks
