The Koch Internship Program (KIP) is a paid experiential learning program run by Stand Together Fellowships that offers professional development, leadership training, and meaningful work experience at non-profits tackling some of our nation's most pressing policy challenges all over the United States. Early-career professionals including undergraduate/graduate/law students and recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Eligible candidates will be geographically located in and authorized to work in the United States through the duration of the program. Successful candidates will interview with both our non-profit partner organizations and Stand Together Fellowships staff, so we strongly encourage you to begin the admissions process early!

Role description As an intern, you will go through a similar onboarding experience to full-time Ballotpedia employees. You will learn how to code the Ballotpedia website, be oriented to Ballotpedia’s style guide, learn about what we do to prevent and detect bias in our resources, and much more. Following orientation, you will join the Policy Team, working alongside full-time staff writers and researchers on Ballotpedia's public policy coverage. As a Ballotpedia Policy Team intern, you may:

- be embedded in our Content Department on the Policy Team and work directly with Policy Team staff members;
- research and write about a variety of policy topics, covering key arguments, reform proposals, legislation, regulations, case law, state surveys, and more, depending upon your assignment;
- assist our teams in news tracking, legislation tracking, and primary source monitoring;
- conduct other detailed research projects;
- participate in brainstorming sessions and planning meetings with experienced staff members;
- assist with metrics and reporting on data collection
