About this role

TEGNA IT seeks a Hybrid Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and optimize infrastructure across Nutanix/VMware on-premises platforms and AWS/Azure cloud environments. You'll lead modernization initiatives, establish governance policies, drive Infrastructure-as-Code automation, and mentor teams on hybrid cloud best practices.

What you'll do

  • Design and optimize hybrid infrastructure across Nutanix/VMware, AWS, and Azure with focus on scalability, security, and cost efficiency
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to provide architecture guidance and influence enterprise infrastructure strategy
  • Develop and enforce governance policies, IAM, tagging, logging, and compliance frameworks across hybrid environments
  • Lead Infrastructure-as-Code initiatives using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager
  • Provide Tier 3 support with root-cause analysis and remediation for complex hybrid infrastructure issues
  • Oversee operational excellence including patching, monitoring, capacity planning, disaster recovery, and cost optimization
