About this role

Toast is seeking a Workday Integrations Engineer to design, build, and maintain secure data connections across the company's People systems—including Workday, payroll, benefits, and talent acquisition platforms. This role balances strategic engineering with operational ownership, requiring expertise in Workday integration tools and enterprise data protocols to support Toast's scaling operations.

What you'll do

  • Design and deploy scalable Workday integrations using Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, PECI, and Web Services
  • Partner across People, Payroll, Benefits, Talent, Finance, IT, and Security teams to translate business requirements into technical designs
  • Own integrations end-to-end from discovery and architecture through testing, deployment, and optimization
  • Manage integration service queue and conduct root-cause analysis on production failures to reduce technical debt
  • Enhance monitoring, alerting, logging, and testing—including support for Workday biannual updates
  • Create documentation and mentor peers on integration standards and best practices

  • OAuth 2.0, SAML, SSL/TLS, and PGP encryption

  • HR domain knowledge (HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, Time & Attendance)
  • Troubleshooting production systems via Jira or ServiceNow
  • SFTP and HTTPS protocols
  • Data mapping and integration architecture
