Mechanical Design Engineer
About this role
Treeswift seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead CAD modeling and hardware design for AI-powered field robotics deployed at major US utilities. You'll own the full product lifecycle from prototyping through production, working with OnShape to build physical systems that operate at scale in demanding real-world environments.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain CAD models in OnShape, leveraging experience from SolidWorks or CREO
- Manage CAD hygiene, revisions, and large-scale BOMs for manufacturing
- Apply design-for-manufacturing (DFM) principles informed by commercial product experience
- Lead rapid prototyping and iterate designs using modern small-volume manufacturing capabilities
- Collaborate with hardware, software, and robotics teams to ensure field performance
- Establish best practices for engineering team collaboration on fast-paced development
