True Anomaly
Supplier Quality Engineer
About this role
True Anomaly seeks a Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure suppliers deliver flight-ready hardware meeting rigorous aerospace standards. You will own corrective action processes, lead root cause investigations, and build statistical quality systems to hold suppliers accountable across quality, cost, and schedule in a high-stakes space technology environment.
What you'll do
- Manage end-to-end Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCAR) process, driving structured root cause methodologies and verifying corrective action closure
- Lead root cause and corrective action (RCCA) investigations on escapes and yield issues, pushing suppliers toward systemic process-level fixes
- Build and maintain supplier quality dashboards tracking defect rates, PPM, Cp/Cpk, and first-pass yield to identify systemic issues early
- Apply statistical process control (SPC) and measurement system analysis (Gage R&R) to validate supplier process capability and control
- Create and disposition non-conformance reports (NCRs); coordinate rework, repair, and use-as-is decisions with design and program teams
- Audit supplier quality management systems and process controls; identify gaps and drive corrective action plans to closure
What they're looking for
- Root cause and corrective action (RCCA) methodologies (5-Why, Fishbone, 8D)
- Statistical process control (SPC) and measurement system analysis (Gage R&R)
- Non-conformance and corrective action (SCAR) process management
- PPAP/FAIR (Production Part Approval Process) review and approval
- Supplier quality auditing and quality management systems
- Data analysis and statistical trending (defect rates, PPM, Cp/Cpk, first-pass yield)
- Technical communication and cross-functional coordination
- Aerospace/defense quality standards and compliance

Likely interview questions
- Walk us through your experience managing supplier corrective action processes; how did you verify that root causes were truly systemic rather than operator error?
- Describe a time you used statistical process control or Gage R&R analysis to uncover a supplier quality issue—what did you find and how did you resolve it?
