About this role
Ultima Genomics seeks a Systems Engineer II to develop and optimize cutting-edge genomics sequencing instrumentation. You'll lead workflows from concept through customer delivery, collaborating across hardware, software, chemistry, and biology teams to advance life science automation.
What you'll do
- Develop, test, and optimize workflows for life science automation and liquid handling systems end-to-end
- Own instrumentation projects from concept through customer delivery
- Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to improve automation efficiency and reliability
- Troubleshoot and customize hardware and software components for scientific instruments
- Interface with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide training and documentation
- Work with chemistry and biology teams to translate manual lab processes to automated systems
