About this role
Varda seeks an Avionics Systems Engineer II to design, integrate, and test avionics systems for the Winnebago spacecraft. You will oversee electrical architecture, risk analysis, verification testing, and hardware-in-the-loop testbeds, ensuring mission readiness from launch through reentry operations.
What you'll do
- Define project scopes and requirements with cross-functional teams, guiding designs from concept through production
- Develop electrical architecture, system diagrams, and budgets for power, telemetry, and mass predictions
- Analyze systems for faults and risks, developing mitigation plans and FDIR strategies
- Conduct comprehensive verification and testing on flight and HITL hardware for launch and reentry readiness
- Design, build, and operate Hardware In The Loop testbeds to simulate spacecraft systems
- Oversee avionics system integration and act as primary contact for integrated systems investigations
