About this role
Varda seeks an experienced embedded software engineer to develop flight-critical Linux and real-time software for spacecraft, satellite buses, and reentry capsules. You'll own the full lifecycle of software development—from requirements and design through testing, verification, and on-orbit operations—working on systems that enable commercial space infrastructure.
What you'll do
- Develop reliable flight software in C++ for spacecraft, satellite buses, and reentry capsules operating in orbit
- Write structured embedded code for bare metal, RTOS, and Linux-based processors
- Own complete software development lifecycle: design, testing, integration, and verification
- Scope projects, capture requirements, and make design trades for complex engineering problems
- Perform software testing, verification, and validation to ensure system quality and performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide flight operational support
