About this role

Varda seeks an experienced embedded software engineer to develop flight-critical Linux and real-time software for spacecraft, satellite buses, and reentry capsules. You'll own the full lifecycle of software development—from requirements and design through testing, verification, and on-orbit operations—working on systems that enable commercial space infrastructure.

What you'll do

  • Develop reliable flight software in C++ for spacecraft, satellite buses, and reentry capsules operating in orbit
  • Write structured embedded code for bare metal, RTOS, and Linux-based processors
  • Own complete software development lifecycle: design, testing, integration, and verification
  • Scope projects, capture requirements, and make design trades for complex engineering problems
  • Perform software testing, verification, and validation to ensure system quality and performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide flight operational support
