About this role
Vast is seeking an Avionics Software Test Engineer in Long Beach to design and implement Python-based automated testing systems for flight-critical space station avionics hardware. You'll manage the complete software lifecycle from development through production qualification, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and enhance the test automation framework supporting next-generation commercial space infrastructure.
What you'll do
- Design and implement Python software for automated testing of flight-critical avionics hardware
- Manage complete software lifecycle for avionics test systems from development through production acceptance testing
- Integrate test equipment with avionics hardware, resolving automation challenges with Test Engineers and Avionics teams
- Define test requirements and recommend test equipment solutions in collaboration with hardware and avionics teams
- Create documentation and user guides for test engineer and technician handover
- Diagnose and troubleshoot test anomalies with root cause analysis
