About this role
Vast seeks an Avionics System Test Engineer to design and maintain hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) testing systems for satellites and space stations. You'll develop test cases, integrate test equipment, troubleshoot complex avionics systems, and mentor junior engineers in a rapidly growing aerospace company.
What you'll do
- Design and support Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) test assets for system-level validation of avionics units with closed-loop simulation
- Capture test design criteria by collaborating with responsible engineers and system owners across the organization
- Develop, implement, and validate system-level test cases on test systems with internal stakeholders
- Procure, integrate, and commission test equipment; own sign-off of system test assets
- Perform troubleshooting, debugging, and lead design reviews for avionics test systems
- Mentor junior engineers and produce comprehensive technical documentation for handover to test operators
