About this role

Vast is hiring an Avionics Test Engineer to design, build, and commission automated test systems for avionics hardware supporting the development of next-generation commercial space stations. You'll work with engineering teams to capture requirements, develop test cases, troubleshoot systems, and lead design reviews while supporting a broader automated testing framework.

What you'll do

  • Design, build, and commission test systems for avionics and electronics hardware
  • Capture test requirements from Responsible Engineers and develop component/system-level test cases
  • Perform troubleshooting and debug of avionics test systems
  • Lead test system design reviews and coach debugging efforts across the team
  • Produce documentation and support handover to test operators
  • Develop Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) interfaces and co-simulation strategies
