Manufacturing Engineer, Thermal Controls Systems
About this role
Vast is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer for Thermal Controls Systems to support the design, production, and integration of fluid-handling hardware for commercial space stations launching in 2027. You'll work hands-on with shop floor technicians to execute builds, troubleshoot issues, and deliver flight-ready components on schedule.
What you'll do
- Develop and execute manufacturing processes for thermal control system hardware including pumps, fluid loops, coldplates, and tubing
- Create and maintain work instructions, assembly procedures, and inspection documentation for TCS components
- Collaborate directly with technicians on the shop floor to build, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues in real time
- Investigate nonconformances, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
- Provide design-for-manufacturing feedback to design engineering teams
- Manage special processes including welding, brazing, tube bending, cleaning, leak testing, and pressure validation
