About this role
Voyager Technologies seeks a Chief Engineer for Strategic Systems to lead end-to-end solid rocket propulsion programs, managing multidisciplinary teams and ensuring technical, budgetary, and schedule alignment. This autonomous leadership role oversees complex systems engineering, design reviews, and mission-critical deliverables across defense and space technology initiatives.
What you'll do
- Direct end-to-end technical lifecycle of solid rocket motor programs through design reviews and qualification milestones
- Lead cross-functional engineering teams of 10+ people to meet program milestones while managing critical path and schedule performance
- Establish and maintain lean technical scope baselines, monitor cost performance indices, and preserve management reserves
- Serve as primary technical spokesperson managing internal and external stakeholder relationships and customer scope negotiations
- Ensure final systems are producible, compliant with technical requirements, and balanced against cost and schedule constraints
- Drive rigorous program execution through aggressive task management and alternative execution strategies
